Active cases of COVID-19 in the province of Saskatchewan are hovering just over the 2,000 mark, as yesterday brought one of the highest spikes in cases since January.

In the province, 199 new active cases of COVID-19 are present in Saskatchewan, and with 195 recoveries the active case count rose slightly to 2,068.

There were three new deaths, and three more hospitalized cases lead to a current total of 111.

In the South East area, eight new cases have been reported along with five recoveries, making the active case count there 65.

Near Estevan, in the South East Sub-zone 4, two new cases were reported raising the active case count to 22.

The current seven-day average of new active cases is 228.
