A wildly entertaining game between the Estevan Bruins and Flin Flon Bombers Friday night at the Whitney Forum ended with the Bombers scoring a controversial overtime goal and winning the game 3-2.

Dayton Deics had a glorious chance to win the game for the Bruins in overtime, but he was robbed by Bombers goaltender Cal Schell. Flin Flon then came back down the ice and scored the winner a few seconds later. Boston Bilous made an outstanding save off of the initial shot, but Cole Duperreault was eventually able to bang in the rebound after a wild scramble in the crease.

The officials did not immediately signal a goal but after a lengthy discussion eventually allowed the goal to stand, much to the delight of the hometown crowd.

The Bruins led 2-0 late into the second period before Flin Flon mounted their comeback.

Mark Rumsey scored his team and league leading 18th goal of the season in the first period. He now has points in 12 straight games.

Captain Eric Houk also scored for Estevan.

Nathan Gagne and Mason Kaspick were the other goal scorers for the Bombers.

These two teams will go at it again on Saturday night at the Whitney Forum. Puck drop is at 7:30.
