The Estevan Police Service handled 59 occurrences over the weekend which included assault, impaired driving, and a high visibility check stop. 

Police responded to a motor vehicle accident between two vehicles. After showing signs of impairment, EPS officers a test on one of the drivers with an oral fluid device. The driver was detained when they failed the test. 

The EPS also set up a High Visibility Check Stop that checked 270 vehicle. During the check stop, two drivers were issued driving suspension concerning tests performed on the oral fluid device.

In another instance, a male with significant injuries from an assault went to the EPS. The complainant was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. Police later obtained a statement from the victim. As a result, police located and arrested the male who assaulted the victim.

Police also reported that individuals were checking the door handles of vehicles and garages late at night. EPS reminds the public to lock their vehicles and property.
