Oxbow, SK - Music enthusiasts in Southeast Saskatchewan are gearing up for an evening of local talent and community spirit as the Oxbow Arts & Culture Committee prepares to host "Shake the Winter Blues: A Music Night at the Oxbow Legion" tomorrow, February 15.

Brad Mayer, Chair of the Oxbow Arts & Culture Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, noting its growing popularity. "It's gaining traction and it's been getting better as we go," Mayer remarked during a recent interview on SUN 102.

Featuring a lineup of local musicians, the event promises a diverse showcase of talent from the region. Mayer highlighted some of the performers set to take the stage. "We've got Chad Staples, a local man here in the community. He's going to probably start us out as a solo artist," Mayer shared. "We have Sam (Robertson). She has an accompaniment with her. And the Greenwoods, Todd and Marci Greenwood out of Carnduff have been doing quite a bit of activity over there in the east." In addition to these acts, Mayer himself will be part of a group of local musicians wrapping up the night with a lively performance.

"Shake the Winter Blues" isn't confined to Oxbow alone. Mayer noted that the event has also extended its reach to the neighboring community of Alameda. For aspiring musicians eager to participate in future events, Mayer encouraged reaching out to the Oxbow Arts & Culture Committee. "We like to have a diverse bunch. That's kind of what we're about," Mayer expressed. "Giving the young artists or older artists some place to play because so many people are trapped at home and they never get to show their stuff."
