As the seasons change, the Salvation Army is finding that they have a consistent number of people coming to them to seek out help.

One of the measures the Salvation Army is having to help out with is food and they say they've seen a good amount of people who need that help.

That's why they're hoping that the fall season gets people ready to give, as their food bank will need a hefty stock for this winter.

Ronza Reynard, the community ministry director for Estevan and Weyburn, says they've seen a lot of people come in for help at the food bank.

"The food bank has been very busy," said Reynard, "We've been seeing consistency with the number of people accessing the food bank, and so we're hoping that we're now getting into a season of giving, and we're hoping people will think about the food bank. We've got a few people thinking of some ideas to do some food drives here in the fall, so we're open to new ideas for things to promote the food bank and get our shelves stocked for the Christmas season."

It can be hard for the food bank to predict how much food they might need during a given season, so Reynard says that having more food for the bank is always better.

"I don't know if we can really predict exactly, it's just a consistency if we're seeing a hundred people a month at the food bank, and that's just what we want to do is be consistent," said Reynard, "If we can have some extra and have a little bit of a backstock that's always helpful, then we're not running short.

"If people have a little extra and want to donate it to the food bank, whether that be food where they go shopping and drop off those extra items or a monetary donation that they can drop off here, we greatly appreciate it."

The Salvation Army will be holding a variety of food drives over the coming months, including a telethon on December 9th.
