This past Halloween, students from Estevan Comprehensive School teamed up to help those in need.

Eight students from the school's drama club dressed up in Marvel-themed costumes and went door to door collecting food items for the Estevan Food Bank.

Noah Stepp was one of those students

"It went really well. We went out around 4:00 and we were able to get almost two truckloads full of donations that contained canned goods," he said. We were out for at least an hour and we all had a great time."

Drama teacher Chelsey Driedger organized the Trick or Tr"eat" campaign.

"Our goal for the event was to fill the shelves for the upcoming holiday season," Driedger said. "We collected a fair amount and are pleased with how well the campaign went."

Ronza Reynard with the Estevan Salvation Army said it's an important initiative.

"It's always great when our young people take an interest in their community and find fun ways to help out others," she said.

The group is collecting donations until Wednesday at 6 p.m.
