Lin was born on May 28, 1927 at a farm near Roche Percee, Saskatchewan and eventually moved into Roche Percee where he lived with his wife and children until they moved to Estevan, Saskatchewan. During his retirement he decided to move to Melville, Saskatchewan returning to Estevan in 2007. His final stop in this journey of life was in Red Deer, Alberta which was central to his remaining children.

Lin had tried his hand at being an entrepreneur in a number of businesses, which included farming, trucking, painting and decorating, custom combining and a billiard hall. He later worked for Luscar as a dragline operator until his retirement. He always enjoyed assisting his children, nieces and nephews and grandkids with various home renovations and playing card games in his spare time. In his earlier years he enjoyed spending time playing billiards with many of his friends. During his later years his only passion was to play cards with family and friends, watch curling , baseball and occasionally visit the casinos. We all will certainly miss him but we celebrate his life and the time that we shared when he was present and now we will all have our memories. RIP. ( A private memorial will be held a later date)
