Chris Lane, Dallas Smith and FGL Live in Regina

You would think you were at a rock show. Chris Lane, Dallas Smith and Florida Georgia Line put on an incredible high energy show over the weekend in Regina. Chris Lane opened things up getting the crowd on their feet and dancing with a set of his hits and some new music he pulled out for the crowd to hear.

Dallas Smith was next, and you would think Dallas was the headliner. He was absolutely incredible to hear live. The sold-out crowd was singing all of his hits including 'Somebody Somewhere', 'If It Gets You Where You Wanna Go', 'Jumped Right In', 'What Kind Love', 'Nothin but Summer' and even his brand new single 'Slow Rollin' had the crowd singing along. Dallas almost stole the entire night, his vocals had the crowd into every song in his performance. I didn't even want to get up and go to the bathroom... I had to stick around and hear his entire set list. He even gave the crowd a special performance of his hit 'Default' song 'Wasting my Time' and finished off his set of songs with his big hit 'Tippin' Point' that got the crowd on their feet and screaming the lyrics. My prediction is Dallas is going to have a HUGE career, after hearing him live... I'm now even a bigger fan.

Then it was time for the headliners... Florida Georgia Line. I was lucky enough to head backstage and meet the guys before the show, they are as nice in person as they are on award shows and interviews.... and these guys know how to put on a show. They kicked off the show with "It'z Just What We Do" and went through all their big hits. It's hard to believe they just have one studio album out and already have a ton of hit songs that can fill an entire concert. The crowd was not quiet, the sold-out crowd was singing along to every hit. It felt like a rock concert and not a country show. We seen guitar throwing, quiet the light show, a lot of smoke and fog and a lot of guitar solos that got the crowd keeping their eyes glued on the duo. They even touched on a few unexpected covers including the pop hit from Bruno Mars 'Grenade' and even touched on the classic Alabama hit 'I'm In A Hurry'. Then of course they ended off the night with the huge #1 hit 'Cruise', I glanced around the arena and all ages from young to old were singing along to 'Cruise' which ended the night off perfectly. All three performers put everything out on the stage for their final stop in Canada and had the crowd leaving the Brandt Center happy with what they paid for.

Easter Candy

Well Easter is just days away and of course all the Easter candy is out this time of this year. If you walk into anystore you welcomed by choclates, candies, baskets and easter eggs made out of every candy you can think of.  Peeps, those colorful marshmallow treats I was never a fan of.... when I was a kid so I would usually just put them in the microwave and see what would happen (KABOOM!) kids if your reading this..... don't try it. It's a mess to clean up. But recently at Texas A&M University they were seeing in a demo what would happen with Peeps in a vacuum (I might need to try this....

How many Cadbury eggs have you eaten so far this month? Last year somebody in my family found a recipe that will put you in a sugar coma. It's a Cadbury Mini-Egg Dip. I'm not even making this up. See the recipe here. Enjoy all your Easter candy and book a dentist in the next couple weeks.

Estevan Kinsmen & Kinettes Dream Vacation Lottery - April 2014

Take a look who won the April draws for the Estevan Kinsmen & Kinettes Dream Vacation lottery....

Who Should Win?

The King of Country is up against the newcomers in Country music for Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs coming up on April 6th.  Who should win?  I was very surprised when I read that George Strait has been nominated 13 times but has only one once for Entertainer of the Year.  I think this one should go to King George, he has had a great year and is wrapping up his final tour... this would top things off nicely.  But ultimately, it's up to YOU the fans.  Vote online at ACMCountry.com

Who will walk away with the honor?
Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton or George Strait?
