The 14UM Estevan Extreme turned in a dominant, defending their provincial volleyball title at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre in Saskatoon over the weekend.
The squad won all eight games through four round-robin matches, beat Huskies Premier 20-25, 25-17, 16-14 in the pool crossover, took down Bongos Green 25-16, 25-11 in the semifinal, and handled RVC Green 25-16, 25-5 in the final.
The roster was Adeon Sullivan, Aidan Turner, Bennett Walliser, Broden Henry, Cameron Milbrandt, Chayse Zohner, Jayden Durr, Kris Phillips, Logan Kolenz, Nathan Gardiner, and Ryden Summers, with coach Bryton Such and assistant Mike Fisher.
The 17UW team claimed a provincial silver medal in a 32-team tournament.
They were first in their pool with a 3-1 record. They beat the Wakaw Warriors 2-1, JCVC Red 2-1, and fell to the Esterhazy Heat for second place in Division 2.
The roster was Amarra Pine, Ariadne Nagel, Ava Laevens, Breanna Fichter, Brooklyn Light, Cammy Henry, Camryn Westling, Izzy Semenuik, Karina Hjorteland, Zoey Thompson, with coach Jeff Erickson, and assistant coach Chanda Henry.
The 14UW Black came away with fifth place in Division 3.
They were first in their pool play with a 3-1 record. They fell to the Lloydminster Rustlers in the playoffs, then beat the QCVC White in two games to take fifth place.
The roster was: Alex Bloor, Alexis Foy, Ali Laevens, Amara Lees, Chloe Thompson, Ella Duke, Kailey Beatty, Kasia Harding, Keely Skuce, Krystina Veroba, Morgan Hirsch, Sophia Fleck, and coach Katie Bloor.
The 14UW Red Extreme finished in 6th place in Division 2. They also went 3-1 through round-robin play, for the top spot in the pool. They fell to Lloydminster Momentum Red in the playoffs, beat JCVC Shockwave 2-1, and ultimately fell to Meadow Lake Heat in two straight sets.
Their roster was Aaliyah Dukart, Arayana Pine, Bree Moroz, Elle Meyers, Emil Michael, Finity Bourassa, Finley Proust, Jayda Light, Kaydence Larsen-Stepp, Olivia Semenuik, Rylie Peterson, coach Brittany Zahn, assistant coaches Coach Jenna Fisher and Coach Keira Phillips.
