The AA 18U Estevan Brewers put on quite the show over the weekend, having won two doubleheaders to make a league-leading record.

The Brewers first faced off against the Moose Jaw Canucks on Saturday, with the first game being decided by a crushing 13-0 win. The Brewers had plenty of hits, with 4 by Kaleb Bechtold.

The second game went much the same, with the Brewers taking it again with a 16-5 win. While the game was close in the beginning, 12 runs by the brewers in the 6th inning sealed the game tight.

On Sunday, the Brewers played the Parkland Expos, with a similar outcome to the last two games - a final score of 10-0. The Brewers shut out the Expos with help from Tayce Miller, who pitched 14 first-pitch strikes and got 5 strikeouts.

The second game of the double-header was much different - the Brewers scraped by with an 8-7 win. The expos nearly got a win with 6 runs in the 5th innings but were shut down by Cade Bendtsen, who had 6 strikeouts.

Afterwards, the Brewers came out with a 10-2 record, putting them in first place in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.

Head Coach Tim Miller says that the team did a lot well over the weekend.

"Weekend went well, pitching was great, some timely hitting, and good, solid defence," said Miller. "When you get good pitching and some solid defence, great things will happen."

With the current standings, the team is likely to see playoff games. Miller says that it's the team current goal to stay in the lead.

"That's what you're always working for," said Miller. "I'm pretty confident that we'll get into the playoffs. Our goal is to be the 1st seed in our division so we can get some home games."

The Brewers play in another doubleheader in Estevan on Wednesday against the White Butte Broncos, one of the few teams they haven't played already.

The first game starts at 6:45 at Panteluk Diamond.
