A couple teams that typically have strong squads have only played one game so far, but the Carlyle Cardinals are the talk of the Saskota Baseball League midway through the second week of the regular season.

The defending champions improved to 3-0 with a 10-0 win over the Astros (0-1) in Carnduff last night.

Carlyle is outscoring the opposition at a rate of 8.5:1. They've crossed the plate 51 times and only surrendered six runs.

The Cubs (1-2) notched their first 'W' on the season last night with a 4-1 home decision over the Oxbow Chiefs (1-1).

And the Arcola Threshers improved to 1-1 with a 21-5 win over the Southeast Diamondbacks (1-2) in Estevan.

The Estevan Taphouse Wolves (1-0) and Redvers A's (0-1) have only played one game each. The Kipling Royals are 1-1.

Six of the nine teams are scheduled to play in the next league action Thursday:

Southeast Diamondbacks @ Redvers A's
