The jump in COVID-19 case numbers was bound to lead to an increase in recoveries as well eventually. Unfortunately, the higher recovery totals aren't that much higher than the new cases, which are still far higher than they were just one month ago.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported three more deaths in patients who tested positive for COVID-19 today. One of the residents was in their 60s and lived in the North Central zone. The other two deaths were in residents of the Regina area with one in their 70s and one over the age of 80.

There are 217 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan today for a total of 34,980. There were also 221 recoveries for a total of 32,342. Active cases slightly declined to 2195, but 202 people are now hospitalized due to the virus. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 226.

Today's new cases are located in the Far North West (5), North West (11), North Central (3), North East (2), Saskatoon (30), Central East (17), Regina (97), South West (1), South Central (14), and South East (36) zones. There is also one new case with pending residence information. There are now 224 active cases in the South East region.

Of the 36 new cases reported in the South East today, 18 are in Estevan's subzone South East 4. There are now 52 active cases of the virus in the Estevan area. Of the remaining 18 cases, 14 are in Weyburn's subzone, which now has 85.

There were 2,924 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan yesterday. The province also recorded a further 5,938 doses of vaccine administered for a total of 227,471. This data is from Sunday, as there is still a delay on the vaccine update due to a new dashboard.
