Nickle Lake Regional Park saw an excellent turnout on Saturday for their annual Nickle Lake Day.

"We had lots of people through the gates out enjoying the Car Show, the live music, and the beer gardens, kids activities and our glow golf was very busy that evening as well," shared Kylie Beck, office supervisor.

She said they had five teams competing in the Slow Pitch Tournament throughout the weekend.

Some of the regular events they hold are Glow Golf on Thursdays and Saturdays every week, weather depending, and they have a movie every Friday adjacent to the canteen.

"We usually post it on the Facebook page a couple of days before," she noted.

Many newcomers to the park quickly learn the speed limit is 10 km/h to 20 km/h, since so many families camp at Nickle.

In fact, on the weekends Nickle Lake is at about 80-per-cent full for most weekends in August.

"For a couple, we're completely full," Beck shared. "We have Halloween in the park happening out here on August 13th and then on the 20th there is a ball tournament, so those weekends are pretty full."

She added that during the week they do have a bit more availability.
