The Estevan Bears were host to Prince Albert for a pair of games at Affinity Place on the weekend, but only came away with one of four possible points despite taking two-goal leads against a tough Mintos squad.

The Bears jumped to a 2-0 lead in the third period on goals by Carter Onrait and Carson Birnie. It was the first goal in 18U AAA for Estevan's Onrait, and the third of the season for Birnie.

But Jacob Cossette and Nate Misskey tallied to force overtime. Jaden Krauss stopped both Estevan shooters (Birnie and Blaze Gutzke) in the shootout, while the Mintos scored twice on three attempts.

Kaden Perron stopped 22 of 24 shots in the crease for Estevan. The White City native improved his save percentage to .897.

On Saturday, the Bears led 3-1 after the first, but Prince Albert scored another in the second, Cossette tied the game with 41 seconds left in the third and Travis Swanson won it in overtime.

Caden Drury scored Estevan's first goal and Birnie had the other two.

Estevan is 1-6-4, while Prince Albert is 6-2. Estevan plays next in Tisdale for a game Saturday and another Sunday against the 1-5 Trojans.
