It just wouldn’t be an Estevan-Flin Flon SJHL hockey series without a Game 7.

The Estevan Bruins were unable to close out their first round series with the rival Flin Flon Bombers Sunday night at Affinity Place, dropping a 4-1 decision in Game 6.

The Bruins led 1-0 after 20 minutes before the Bombers rallied with four unanswered goals.

Top offensive threats Cole Duperreault and Jeremi Tremblay both scored for the Bombers in their return to the lineup after being out with injuries.

Forward Mitch Kohner scored the lone Bruin goal before leaving with an injury after colliding with teammate Ilia Chmelevski.

The series is now tied at 3-3 with Game 7 set for Tuesday night at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon. Puck drop is 6:30 Saskatchewan time.

The two clubs also played a Game 7 last spring in the 2022 SJHL Finals. The Bruins won that game 2-0 at home.

If Estevan wins Tuesday they would play the Battlefords North Stars in the second round of the playoffs, while a Flin Flon win means a matchup against the Humboldt Broncos.
