Barely a week after concluding their 2021-2022 campaign, the Estevan Bruins are already looking ahead to next season.

The Bruins announced on Thursday that they had acquired the rights to 17-year-old forward Madden Wallis from the Melville Millionaires. In exchange the Bruins send their 4th round pick in the upcoming SJHL draft to Melville. The draft is scheduled for next Friday June 10.

Wallis, a native of Shaunavon, Sask., is listed at six feet and 190 lbs.

"Madden Wallis is a big body, plays a 200 foot game, has a physical presence and is a character player that our scouts were impressed with," said Bruins head coach and GM Jason Tatarnic in a team statement.

The Bruins will have the 12th overall selection in the draft, as the order is a reverse of the final regular season standings. Estevan finished first overall in 2021-2022.
