The Estevan Bruins lost 5-4 in a shootout to the La Ronge Ice Wolves Friday night in a feisty, penalty-filled game that had a playoff feel to it.

The Bruins jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads only to watch the Ice Wolves come back.

Bruins forward Mitch Kohner tied the game at 4-4 late in the third period to force overtime, but the Bruins ultimately fell in extra time.

Goaltender Cam Hrdlicka made his return to the Bruins crease, making 42 saves.

With the win, La Ronge moves one point ahead of the Bruins in the standings with two games in hand.

The two teams play against Saturday night in La Ronge.
