The Estevan Police Service reported 41 occurrences over the weekend, including reports of counterfeit money and a theft.

Sgt. Tyler McMillen said police continue to investigate a theft from a garage in east-central Estevan.

Police received a report of counterfeit money being used at a few businesses in the city.

McMillen said the money they recovered were $10 bills.

"Small denominations, but they still can cause a problem," he said. "We want businesses and the public to be aware."

A Midale man will appear in court Monday morning, after police said he was found breaching a condition from his conditional sentence order on Sunday night.

And McMillen said the community did a tremendous job arranging for sober driving with a number of events going on over the weekend.

"We also monitored several events, including things like Festival of Trees, other Christmas parties, retirement parties, over the weekend. No major incidents came out of those events."

Police did a number of roadside checks, with one driver blowing a warning. His vehicle was towed and his license suspended three days.

"We're quite happy that taxi cabs appeared to be busy and any other businesses or people that gave rides, we appreciate everybody being safe over the weekend."

Police also reported arresting an Edmonton man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for sexual offences.
