It'll be a little different than what you might be used to at the Estevan Motor Speedway, but Estevan residents will still get to see some fast-paced racing this weekend.

The Trackside Motocross Club, which is located just east of the speedway, will be hosting a two-day dirt bike racing event on Saturday and Sunday.

"We've got riders coming in from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta," said Track Coordinator. Randy Franke. "We usually get 120 to 150 entries."

Franke said there's a wide age range of racers, from 5 and 6-year-old kids to 60-year-old veterans.

"It's really entertaining...you can get really close to it, right up to the stands like you're five feet away from the bikes as they go by if you want," he said. "A lot of people really like watching the little guys. I mean they can barely walk hardly and they're out riding dirt bikes."

"And then there's the pro riders who get 20 feet in the air and 100 feet long jumps and side by side, three or four guys in the air at the same time."

He added that it's always a family affair.

"It's a really big family event...myself, I race, my kids race, my grandkids race, and a lot of the families are like that," Franke said.

Franke said you can get tickets at the gate. Admission is five dollars.
