The Energy City came together on Saturday to examine alternative methods of wellness at the annual Health Expo, held in the Wylie Mitchell building.

Items like readers, body workers, healthcare products and much more made up the variety of displays and booths set up.

"It started a few years ago with a bunch of people that got together and thought that there needed to be some way to showcase the alternative healing modalities that happen to be in the area," explained organizer Sheila Fonstad.

The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity also had a booth set up.

"The importance is being engaged in your own well-being. I think our health and healing is coming back to ourselves, and people are having to take a more active role."

She noted that that is one of the primary reasons that the expo is held.

"It's to give people options and see what is out there so that they can make an informed decision about their own health."
