The city of Estevan is planning multiple water valve replacement operations across Estevan's downtown tonight.

The biggest of these will be on 4th street, taking up multiple blocks.

City Safety Officer Helen Fornwald has the details on that:

"The city of Estevan would like to advise the public, commencing today at 6 pm, 4th street and 11th avenue intersection will be completely closed with no through traffic, including city hall sidewalk, due to water valve replacements.

"The back alleys will remain open for access to local businesses. This construction will continue overnight and through the day for the road work to be completed.

Another pair of intersections will also be affected by the work.

"As well, 5th Street and 11th Avenue intersection, and 12th Avenue to Souris Avenue will have no through traffic. The public is requested to avoid these areas until the construction work is completed."

"Affected customers by water disruption will be on boil water advisory. Please keep posted on city social media to see when it's lifted. We thank you for your patience."
