The Estevan Public Library has a new branch manager, Lucas Reed joining us from St. John's Newfoundland and getting used to the new scenery. He comes from being the assistant at the Queen Elizabeth the II Library at Memorial University of Newfoundland. And in April of 2016 he completed his Masters of Library and Information Science Degree at the University of Western Ontario.

"Its been a great experience, I've met a lot of wonderful people. The library itself seems really impressive, I come from an academic library background so its definitely a big change. But I'm welcoming it and its really interesting. They've got a lot of nice programs going on and a great collection with great people."

And when asked about how he adjusting to his new role, "Learning the ins and outs of the public library system, particularly the Southeast Regional System. Learning about collections development, interacting with patrons, and getting used to the managerial position."

"I'm just happy to be in Estevan, trying to explore around the area as much as possible. Getting used to the area and enjoying the summer," he added.

Welcome to Estevan Lucas and if you see him around make sure you say hi and greet the new branch manager of the library.
