The RCMP are still investigating after a motor vehicle collision Sunday evening left two people dead.

The report of the collision came in just after 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and officers responded to the location, which was south of Lake Lenore on Highway 368. A car and an SUV had collided on the road.

The woman who was driving the car and the man who was driving the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. There were three passengers in the SUV who were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. No updates are being provided as to their condition.

All of those involved in the collision are from the Humboldt area.

The highway was closed for a significant period of time Sunday to allow for the on-scene investigation and has since re-opened.
