A 38-year-old woman from the RM of Francis is facing charges after a report of inappropriate online communication with a boy.

The Indian Head RCMP received the report midway through last October.

Police say the victim was a student within Prairie Valley School District. The suspect was an educational assistant at Vibank Regional School, which is within the same school district, when the offence allegedly occurred. Though she is no longer employed there.

A second victim was identified during the investigation that was also in the same school division. Police say there could be more victims.

On January 16, Stacey Duke was charged with:

  • 2 counts, Sexual Exploitation of a Young Person - Section 153(1) of the Criminal Code
  • 2 counts, Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child - Section 171.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • 2 counts, Luring a Child – Section 172.1(2) of the Criminal Code

She is scheduled to appear in Indian Head Provincial Court on March 7.
