A total of 384 hospitalizations headlined the new weekly COVID-19 report released by the province on Thursday afternoon.

The government announced last week that they would be ending the daily updates and instead provide updates on a weekly basis every Thursday.

The hospitalization total stayed roughly the same compared to last week (383). There were also 26 new ICU patients as of Wednesday.

The report also said there were 5,401 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Saskatchewan from Jan. 30-Feb. 5. This is a decrease of 36 per cent from the previous week for lab confirmed cases.

The highest rate of new cases was in the North Central Zone.

The South East Zone saw 405 new confirmed cases from Jan. 30-Feb. 5, which is also down from the previous week (583), a drop of 31 per cent.

Province-wide, there were 22 new COVID-related deaths from Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

The province also reported 30 new COVID-19 outbreaks in high-risk settings from Jan. 30-Feb. 5, including three in the south east region.
