What has so far been a week of modest upticks in COVID-19 cases continued for the province of Saskatchewan today. Although the short streak of single-case days came to an end, new cases remained in single digits, and recoveries again outnumbered them.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced four new cases of the virus today, for a provincial total of 1586. The four new cases are split at two apiece between the northwest and the southwest zones.

The province released a COVID-19 alert yesterday involving a business in the North Battleford area. The northwest zone includes Battlefords, though the province did not say in their release whether these two cases were related to that business.

Seven additional recoveries bring the provincial total on that count to 1410. Active cases dropped for the third day in a row this week down to 154. The province said in a release their investigations show that 104 of these 154 cases are in communal living settings.

One of the recoveries appears to be a person in hospital who was receiving inpatient care, as the number of cases requiring inpatient care dropped from four to three, while those requiring intensive care remained at four (all of which are in Saskatoon). Hospitalizations overall in the province are down to seven.

There are once again no active cases of COVID-19 in the southeast zone. The last time the province had a recorded active case in the southeast, according to their interactive map, was one week ago on August 12. There are still four other regions with no active cases at this time, while the north-central still has just one.

Saskatchewan has performed 125,181 tests for COVID-19 so far. Yesterday, they performed 962 tests.
