Farmers with crops left in the field will have to watch for frost within the coming days.
Andre Bonneau, a Forage Conversion Specialist with Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food, says there are two types of frost: killing and light.
Bonneau says a killing frost will kill the top half of the plant, pushing the nitrates up from the roots, into the plant, and won't be used up.
