Making our way out to the Picturesque scenery of a farm in the Storthoaks area, we met a gracious family with deep roots in our area.

Gordan Mann and his family were the best of hosts, inviting us in with open arms. "My nephew will be 4," in regards to the generations on the farm.

"Were about half-way right now," through harvest and they are bringing in, "We have hard wheat, canola, barley, peas, and soybeans."

"The yields, we've been really happy with the wheat, considering we were a little shy on moisture. The canola, it got hurt a bit in the heat with a lack of moisture. It is what it is."

When Mann talks about why he loves farming, "Being my own boss."

"Great, its been a long time since we won one," in regards to how many times he has won Grain Rush and 1997 and in the 80's was the last times he has been a lucky winner.

Its a good time of year to get a free meal for an amazing family who not only gave us fresh garden tomatoes but cookies and ice-cream as well.
