RCMP in Saskatchewan released its weekly report Monday afternoon for May 22-28.

Some of the noteworthy incidents relevant to the southeast included:

  • A fatal vehicle rollover carrying four occupants north of Churchbridge. Esterhazy RCMP responded to the accident. A 20-year-old man died at the scene. The 15-year-old female driver of the vehicle did not have any injuries. RCMP said two other passengers, an 18-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released from hospital. The investigation into the cause of the rollover is ongoing.
  • A  collision between a truck and a train between Highway 309 and Highway 9. Yorkton RCMP responded to the collision. They determined that a 16-year-old driver and lone occupant of the vehicle collided with a power unit on a CN train. RCMP said the driver was charged for driving a vehicle without due care.

RCMP had 6,771 calls for service from May 22-28, including 62 reports of impaired drivers, one homicide, and 19 sexual assaults province wide.
