A familiar face will be taking over behind the bench for the Estevan AA Apex Bruins next season.

The team announced that Aren Miller, who spent the last several seasons as an assistant coach with the Junior A Estevan Bruins, will be the team's new head coach.

Miller has an extensive hockey background. The former goaltender was drafted into the National Hockey League by the Detroit Red Wings in 1996. He would go on to play pro in the IHL, ECHL, and AHL.

Miller is from Oxbow and takes over from Ryan Curzon, who led the Bruins to the provincial final last season.

Miller has also previously coached minor hockey in Estevan.
