This small community of approximately 170 residents is anything but sleepy. Macoun, located north west of Estevan on Highway 39 boasts an exciting 2018. Carmen Dodd-Vicary, the Town Administrator told us, “It’s been a busy year. We’ve had lots of events that have taken place; basically right since the New Year. We had a cabaret held by the Macoun Parks and Rec. We also had our second annual Macoun Days on July 7th.”

Macoun has an active community improvement society called the “Macoun Happy Gang” and over the past few years they have invested in making Macoun a cheerful community to live in; hosting events like monthly lunches.

If you’re interested in paying Macoun a visit, make sure you don’t miss “Coffee Row” at the local Co-Op Convenience Store. Macoun also boasts a local united church, town hall (circa 1903), and the William Snider Park.

Additionally there are a few local fundraisers lined up to support the local volunteer fire service. A supper, silent auction, and concert by the Daae Family is scheduled at Macoun School on Sunday, September 9th at 5:30 PM. Also, the Macoun Co-Op is offering a “Fuel Good Day” on Tuesday, September 18th.
