A case involving an alleged murder of a Fillmore man has been put over in the Estevan Provincial Court until May 21. According to court officials, Cody Nagy, 18, had his matter put over to that day at 9:30 in the morning to be spoken to after a scheduled appearance in court this morning was waved.

Court officials said Nagy's hearing this morning was put over due to COVID-19. He is scheduled to appear via video in Estevan Provincial Court on that day.

Nagy was arrested by Fillmore RCMP on Tuesday, March 31, after they got a silent 911 call. He is charged with first-degree murder and indignity to human remains in the death of his 69-year-old grandfather. He is presumed innocent.

Police said when they arrived at the scene of the silent call, they found the 18-year-old wandering around the farmyard. They continued to search the property and found the body of a 69-year-old man not far from the residence itself. The grandfather was the owner of the property, and police said Nagy had been living with him at the time.
