A 67-year old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident Wednesday afternoon in Alameda.

According to a release, Carnduff RCMP received a report of a man breaching his probation conditions in Alameda.

Officers went to a home in Alameda where the man answered the door. Officers told him he was under arrest. The man then retreated back into the house to get a firearm.

RCMP said an altercation ensued with a shot being fired by one of the officers.

The Mounties said there were no injuries and the man was arrested.

Theodore Allan Brycks of Alameda has been charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer, along with four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He was scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Friday.
