The Moosomin Rangers took home the championship in what was the final night in the Big Six Hockey League Finals.

The Rangers had taken the previous two games from the Redvers Rockets and managed to seal the deal with a 5-3 victory at the Redvers Rec Centre.

Big 6 Hockey League President Craig Barber says the game managed to keep everyone on their toes til the end.

"It was really good, right to the end. Kept the crowd all there, it was actually tight till 5 minutes left. Actually, all three games have been really tight, kept everybody there till the end. The balance either way could have made a difference in the series. Redvers could have even had 1-2 out of the first three with a bounce their way."

Barber does say the home crowd was a bit disappointed in the loss after the Redvers held first place in the division this season.

Eve with one team above the rest Barber says that the season was very close between a few teams.

"The top six teams, any one of them could have won the league this year. So out of nine teams, that's pretty good to see that caliber of hockey through one through six."

Barber says that the league's in a good spot and will have plenty of seasons to come.

"The league's going to stay strong for a few years and hopefully quite a few years, keeps people coming out to the rink to support the hockey when there's good hockey to watch."
