Health regions across North America are suffering a severe shortage of nurses.

According to Marga Cugnet, the Vice President of Primary and Integrated Health with the Sun Country Health Region, a total of fifty-one nurses are needed in the southeast, which represents seven full-time permanent vacancies, four full-time temporary vacancies, and thirty part-time permanent and temporary vacancies.

Cugnet says the Health Region is continuing with an extensive recruitment campaign through partnerships with local Chambers of Commerce and focus groups, in addition to increased advertising nationwide.
