Bartenders in Saskatchewan have received a little more responsibility.

The province has now increased fines for those who serve alcohol to minors and who are already intoxicated from $2500 to $10,000.

According to Minister of Liquor and Gaming Deb Higgins, it will also be mandatory for bartenders and servers to take Server Intervention Training.

Minister Higgins says the new fines are similar to other jurisdictions in the country, and adds that many servers should know when a patron has reached his or her limit.
