It's been a great 2016/17 season for the Female Midget AA Powertech Panthers as they have been at the top of the league standings all year long.

However, no team is immune to a little adversity throughout the course of a season. It's how you handle it that's important.

Following a winless weekend in Swift Current, where the Panthers lost 4-3 on Saturday and tied 5-5 on Sunday, the team is looking to learn from the experience and grow stronger heading towards playoffs and provincials.

"You've got to take a positive out of every experience and the good thing about this past weekend is that it happened in league play, not playoffs," states Coach Trevor Morrison. "So we have an opportunity to work on a few things and try to get back to what's made us successful to this point."

The Panthers gave up nine goals in the two games over the weekend, which is highly unusual when looking at their stats this season. Estevan has now given up a league-low 33 goals against in 21 regular season games.

Morrison says getting back to disciplined play in their own end and playing a full team game will be a focus of their's at practice this week.

The Panthers (12-3-6) will head to Weyburn (7-11-3) on Friday to resume league play. They will then head to Wilcox and take on Notre Dame (3-14-3) on Sunday to round out the weekend.
