The Estevan Police Service reported weapons charges against two people for separate incidents on January 19.

One saw police called to apprehend a male on the 1300 block of Nicholson Road. Police arrested the man and found a concealed weapon.

He was placed in the back of the police vehicle and kicked out the rear passenger window.

The 26-year-old Estevan man was charged with

  • Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace
  • Possession of a concealed weapon
  • Assault on a Police officer
  • Mischief under $5000 dollars

The other call came for a disturbance at a residence on the 600 block of 3rd Street. A 37-year-old woman was arrested and held in cells.

She was charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace
  • Mischief under $5000 dollars

She was released on conditions. The investigation is considered ongoing, and further charges are pending.

Sgt. Tyler McMillen said they were not able to disclose more information, including the type of weapons involved in the arrests, at this point. They are continuing to gather information from witnesses.
