Every update from the province of Saskatchewan so far this week has had positive news on the COVID-19 front. Today's update showed fewer recoveries and more cases than the others so far, however.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced five new cases of the virus in the province, along with four recoveries for an increase in active cases of one. These five cases bring the provincial total to 813.

New cases for the day are spread across four different regions. The central, far north, and Saskatoon regions all have one new case each. The south, where the other two cases reside, is the only region that saw more than one new case.

Recoveries, meanwhile, have climbed to 750. The increase of a single active case has moved the number of active cases in Saskatchewan up to 48. Out of those 48 active cases, 25 are in the far north, six are in Saskatoon, two are in the central region, and seven are in the south. There are no active cases in Regina.

Five people are in hospital in the province right now, two more than yesterday. Four out of five are receiving inpatient care, split evenly between Saskatoon and the north. The single patient receiving intensive care is in Saskatoon.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority also warned anyone traveling to and from and living in Prince Albert and area of an increase in COVID-19 illnesses in the community. As a result, visitation will be restricted at Victoria Hospital and long-term care homes, including Herb Bassett Home, Pineview Terrace, and Mont St. Joseph Home.
