An off season that has felt like an eternity to the majority of the Roughrider faithful is about to come to an end.

The Riders will kick off their training camp on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium. The rookies and Quarterbacks have been practicing since Wednesday in Regina.

With a first place finish, a near win at the Grey Cup and a busy off season many in Saskatchewan are excited about the Riders Centennial season. And the fans are not the only ones who are excited about the upcoming season.

Running Back Wes Cates was in Estevan about a month ago and was pumped about the chance to play for the Riders during their 100th anniversary season. "Its really cool to break out some new uniforms and to just imagine to being playing in a league with so much tradition, and the Riders fans and heritage it's cool being apart of that."

Linebacker Mike McCullough was in Estevan for the Minor Football Dinner last month and is hoping to make this season on the Rider fans will never forget. "It is a pretty momentous occasion, and I am glad I am a still here and hopefully I am still here at the end of the season, cause you never know in this game and hopefully it will be amazing year and hopefully we can puncuate this year by doing something special.

A pair of Regina born Roughriders Ryan Getzlaf and Stu Foord were on hand in Estevan as apart of the New Rink Fundraising Dinner. Even with the season months away both players were really excited. Foord is excited about the watching the past 100 years unfold before his eyes. "It is going to be sweet to see the history cause this team has so much, to see it come back to life will be something special.

Getzlaf is looking forward to adding to the Riders storied history. "I grow up being a fan, growing up loving the Riders obviously it's the biggest thing in Regina and playing in the 100th season is great and possibly bringing one home for that centennial.

The Riders start the preseason next Sunday against BC with the regular season kicking off on Canada Day against Montreal in Regina.
