As spring settles into southeastern Saskatchewan, crews are out and getting work done around the streets of Estevan.

EMO Coordinator Helen Fornwald shared about one current project.

"The City of Estevan would like to advise the public that Bannatyne Avenue access from King Street is closed for the week of April the 17th to the 21st, with no through traffic, for infrastructure upgrades."

She went on to explain in further detail what all is affected.

"King Street westbound traffic from Pine Avenue to Bannatyne Avenue will be single lane traffic during some portions of the project. Pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of King and Bannatyne will be closed. Foot traffic will be redirected to the Pine Avenue crosswalks. Bannatyne north sidewalk will also be closed for the first block."

Fornwald noted, however, that back alley and business access in the area will continue to go unhindered.

She requests that people avoid the construction zone and find an alternate route, and to obey all the signs.
