The small increases in cases of COVID-19 have been mostly steady over the past several weeks with one notable exception when over 100 cases came in for one day. While today's increase wasn't that dramatic, it was an uptick from the kind of numbers we're used to seeing.

For the fifth day in a row, the Saskatchewan Health Authority did not report any new deaths in patients who tested positive for the virus. They did, however record 53 new cases of COVID-19 for a provincial total of 49,525.

There were just 19 new recoveries today for a total of 48,674. There are now 276 cases considered active in Saskatchewan, of which 59 require hospitalization. Of those 59 cases, ten require intensive care. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 30.

Today's new cases are located in the following zones:  Far North West, 24; Far North Central, 2; Far North East, 2; North West, 9; North Central, 1; Saskatoon, 5; Regina, 4; South West, 1; and South Central, 1. There are four cases with pending residence information, while a fifth was assigned to the North Central zone.

With no new cases in the South East again today, the number of active cases in Estevan's subzone (South East 4) remains at two. Overall, there are 11 active cases of the virus in the South East after one recovery from yesterday.

There were 1,683 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan yesterday. There were also 5,413 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered for a total of 1,358,720. As of this latest update, 60 percent of the population age 12 and over is fully vaccinated.
