The Southeast A's are yet another ball club from the Estevan region that has had a great start to their season.

The U15 Triple A baseball squad will take a 5-2 record into Saskatoon this weekend, where they'll play four more games.

"We've been winning the games that we should be winning," said A's Head Coach Trent Dorrance. "We've got great pitching, great offence, and our defence has been pretty sound, so very happy with that so far."

"We've got an older team. Of the 13 players, we have nine second-year players and four first-year players, but six of them are returning from last year," said Dorrance. "I rely on those six to really lead the team both on and off the field just to help those kids that are new to the Triple A program."

Dorrance said the A's have a big weekend coming up against the two top teams in the league.

"We're sitting fourth right now behind the three Saskatoon teams and nobody's (outside of Saskatoon) beaten any of them so far," Dorrance said. "But I feel pretty confident and expect that we should get a split from all four of those games, so I expect nothing less than a 2-2 record out of that weekend."

"If we come out of there as confident as I think we should be, we should have a pretty good roll for the next two months."

Dorrance added that his team represents all of the southeast, with players hailing from Moosomin, Redvers, Carnduff, Gainsborough, Arcola, Alameda, and Estevan.
