St. Joseph's Hospital employees can look forward to improved workplaces, reduced burnout and more professional development opportunities thanks to a retention grant which has been given to the Sun County Health Region.

Over one million dollars in funding will be going towards 17 innovative projects throughout the province with retention and recruitment main priorities.

CEO of Sun Country Health Region Cal Tant explains that Estevan is one of 17 projects which will receive grant funding to provide 35,000 dollars going towards an enhanced employee orientation program and staff scheduling system at St. Joseph's Hospital.

The funding is part of the Health Workforce Employee Retention Program which is designed to keep health employees working in the Saskatchewan health care system.
