Ahead of Alice Cooper this Sunday, I figured I'd bring up this article online once more. A man from Estevan that's the played with Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Guess Who, Bush, What do all of these bands have in common? They've all played with and toured with a man from Estevan. Fred Mandel. He's been in the music business since the 70's, has played on some of the biggest stages there is in the world including performances on Saturday Night Live with Queen in 1982, and all over the world.

Nick Nielsen got on the horn and got to talk to him about his career and what the world of rock n' roll was like in the 70's and 80's with a huge group of the world's biggest bands, and it was entertaining time.

Mandel on keyboard with Brian May on guitar behind him and Freddy Mercury on vocals and pumping up his performance on Saturday Night Live, September 25, 1982.

He's still kept in touch with a few people from home as well, and you can really hear that in the morning show on Rock 106 for next little while as we debut his new solo track 'Rumrunner', which has ties to not only Estevan but Bienfait and Portal in the lyrics.
