Brace yourselves Estevan, because another wild ride of temperatures may be in store for the month ahead.

Environment Canada Regional Meteorological John-Paul Cragg shared an outlook.

"Right now it's still up in the air. However, the most likely scenario is cold air sticking around until about midway through next week, and then a warmup to temperatures close to the zero mark. They would then probably stay like that for another week as well."

He noted that the temperatures would eventually level off, and shared what those would be for this time of year.

"An average February in Estevan is daily highs of around -3 and lows of around -16. There will be some fluctuation. However, when we tally it all up in the end, it looks like the southeast will be pretty close to that normal mark."

Cragg expressed that although the wind chill is not expected to reach extreme status, people still need to take caution with the cold temperatures, and dress accordingly.

"Make sure when you go outside you dress in layers so that you can stay warm. If you are planning on travelling anywhere in your car ensure that you have warm clothes on, in case you do get into an accident."

"Blankets are another way to stay warm if you do have to stay in your vehicle for a while", he added.

In addition, Cragg said that temperatures were slightly above average for the month of February.
