With the Government of Saskatchewan's announcement for an 18.4 million investments towards health professional education, this means an increase from 60 seats to 88 seats for physicians.

An increase in training seats available for physicians at the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine is a welcome addition.

As Doctor Vino Padayachee, past president of the Saskatchewan Medical Association explains, eight additional seats will be introduced in the upcoming year, twelve the following year and eight the year after.

A total amount of 18.4 million is to be invested annually with 13.1 millions dollars committed towards training opportunities for physicians Nursing and diagnostic staff will receive the remaining 5.3 million to boost opportunities for education in Saskatchewan by 96 spots.
