UPDATE:

The province's Highway Hotline changed the status of Highway 47 between Estevan and Stoughton and Highway 39 between Midale and the US border from closed to having winter driving conditions.

The highways were listed as closed in an update from 6:04 Tuesday night. The update came just before 6 a.m. Wednesday.

A small section of Highway 47 north of Stoughton remains closed.

Several highways in the Estevan area are closed Wednesday morning.

The province's Highway Hotline lists Highway 47 from Estevan to just north of Stoughton as closed, along with 39 between Midale - through Estevan - and the US border. 

The road closures, which were listed at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, say the roads are ice-covered with swirling snow, drifting snow, and reduced visibility.

Highway 18 heading in either direction from Estevan has travel not recommended, as does 47 south to the border.
