There may be another delay in passport requirements for Canadians entering the U.S. by land.

While the implementation date was originally scheduled for this summer, President Bush is expected to sign a bill in the near future putting off the date to 2009.

As of January 31st, anyone entering the United States by land must present their drivers license or any other government issued identification as well as their birth certificate if they don't already have a passport.

Meanwhile, passports are required for anyone traveling into the U.S. by air and sea, requirements that caused massive delays at Passport Canada this past year.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the implementation date will be formally announced with at least sixty days notice.
