Alameda-born baseball player Tyren Dorrance just picked up some recent accolades, having been selected for the California Community College Athletic Association student athlete honour roll. The 21-year old corner outfielder just finished up his two seasons at Taft College and has plans to play for York University in Nebraska for the next two seasons.

"Growing up in Saskatchewan, it was always the hockey baseball mix," Dorrance said. "It was in the Summer Games when I was about 14, that's kind of when I really got serious about baseball."
